Nicole Nigro assisted her first dance class in 2000 and fell in love with sharing the undeniable benefits of movement. Nigro has instructed movers as young as 3 up to the age of 60. She feels honoured and humbled to share the studio with so many diverse souls and believes dance-theatre is a communicative force through which we can develop confidence, understanding, and connection. Nigro strives to bring generosity, skill, awareness, and joy into the studio. She is grateful to have been a longtime faculty member at Canadian Contemporary Dance Theatre (CCDT), The School of Toronto Dance Theatre, and Balletomane, as well as educating with the Toronto District School Board as a workshop facilitator for Toronto Dance Theatre and CCDT. Nigro holds a Diploma in Dance Teaching Studies from the Royal Academy of Dance (UK), a Honours BFA in Dance from York University (CA), a MFA in Physical Theatre from Accademia dell’Arte (IT), and is a certified teacher of the Elemental Body Alignment System (EBAS), developed by Scott Puttman; EBAS is a series of exercises designed for structural integrity and supported range of motion. Her teaching practice includes Ballet, Limón, Graham, Improvisation for Creation, and Body|Voice Art.
